What size skip bin will I require for my waste?
Bins are sold by the cubic metre and this is the most important calculation to ensure you are able to remove all waste with minimal effort and cost. The best comparison is to understand a standard box trailer (6' x 4') is approximately one cubic meter when level with the top side. Otherwise just measure the material if in a pile. The formula is: length x width x height (measured in meters) = cubic metres. This is the approximate size bin you will require. You can always use our handy bin calculator to assist you.
What time will my bin I recieve my bin?
Delivery times can vary on a large number of factors, including but not limited to traffic, waste facility traffic, how many deliverys we have on that day, and when we are in your suburb. We are happy to contact you 30minutes prior to delivery if you choose. Generally delliverys commence at 7am and a rough timeframe for delivery is between 7am-12pm
How long can I have the skip bin for?
Bin hire period is normally five (5) days. However, we can accommodate additional time as long as we are aware of this. You may also contact our office to request additional time, or early collection.
Builders are subject to 14 days, but this must be organised/requested at time of order
What kind of material can not be placed in the skip bin?
Asbestos in any form (bonded sheets, friable, pipes, corrugated roofing, fibro sheets), food waste, tyres, batteries, liquid waste, hazardous or toxic waste.
Please refer to our detailed page about waste types
Do I need to be there when the skip bin is delivered and or collected?
No, as long as payment has been organised and you have advised exactly where the bin is to be placed. If you are not on site for delivery it is best to mark the location with a rubbish bin or something similar and give specific details at the time of ordering the bin. Be sure to advise of any special considerations such as low power lines, water meters, narrow driveways etc.
How can I pay for the bin?
Payment can be made via Visa or Mastercard over the phone at the time of booking, cash on delivery or by direct deposit.
If paying by direct deposit, you will need to allow 2-3 business days for funds to clear into our account before delivery will occur.
You may also pay by credit card via our online store at the time of ordering.
Can the skip bin be placed anywhere I want?
You will need to consider the trucks are 2.5 meters wide but will fit through most driveways, low power lines or cables and the bins can only be removed from the rear of the truck, not the front or sides. Also will it be placed on your property or councils? Some councils require you to obtain a permit if on their property so check first to avoid a penalty notice. You will also need to consider the possibility of solid ground, especially upon collection, as on collection all weight is forced to rear axle and on soft ground the truck will sink and require recovery.
Can I fill the skip with bricks, soil and concrete?
Yes, as long as you have advised this at the time of booking the bin.
Will the bin have a door for wheelbarrow access?
All of our bins except the 2 cubic metre bins have wheelbarrow access doors.
Can I fill the bin over the rim?
No, this causes safety issues during transport of the bin and is against RMS regulations and drivers are subject to heavy fines and demerit points if caught doing so. If a bin is overfilled you will be given the option to remove the excess material or hire an additional bin to transfer the material in to.
